A tragic event unfolded in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where a tech professional lost his life over a minor disagreement. The victim reportedly declined a request from another individual to buy cigarettes, leading to a violent confrontation. In a fit of rage, the assailant allegedly drove his vehicle into the victim's motorcycle from behind.
The incident took place on May 10 at Vasanthapura cross along Kanakpura road. The perpetrator has been identified as 31-year-old Prateek, while the victim is recognized as HN Sanjay.
According to police reports, Sanjay and his friend Chetan were smoking by the roadside when Prateek approached them. After Sanjay refused to fetch cigarettes for him, a heated argument ensued, prompting local bystanders to intervene. Moments later, as Sanjay and Chetan were returning to their workplace, Prateek, angered by the refusal, drove his car into Sanjay's bike, causing severe head injuries. Sanjay was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Chetan also suffered injuries and is currently receiving medical care.
Authorities have reviewed CCTV footage from the scene, and a murder charge has been filed against Prateek, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time, having just left a party.
